Fireworks!

As you may or may not know, there is an annual tradition in England known here as 'bonfire night' or 'Guy Fawkes night' every year on the 5th of November.

The tradition involves burning an effigy of one Guido Fawkes and letting off fireworks, you can read the history behind this here. I really suggest you give it a look as it will provide an insight into a peculiarly English tradition and learn an interesting story as you go.

Nearly every city and town in England celebrates this event and Cambridge is no exception, so on the 5th of November I took some students over to Midsummer common to check it out:

Halloween Party!

Sorry for the slight delay in updates, we have been experiencing some technical difficulties and normal service will resume immediately...

As promised, our Halloween Party took place on All Hallows' Eve as planned, there was a good turn out and some impressive costumes.

Some students even had their faces painted at the party with some impressive results as you can see!

We also had a visit from a mysterious zombie pirate... This could be the Ghost Pirate LeChuck of Monkey Island fame, but I probably shouldn't speculate.

Anyway, the music was loud, the dance floor was full and the food disappeared very quickly. I think it's safe to say a good time was had by everyone!

Check back next week for some photos and (hopefully) some video from the Annual Cambridge fireworks display!
